2022 MMLA Recipient


The Georgia Veterans Day Association is pleased to announce that the recipient of the 2022 Marvin Myers Leadership Award is Mr. Sunny Park.​ Born in the Republic of Korea, Mr. Park immigrated to the United States in 1974.​ Since that time, he has started many successful companies and has served on the boards of many great organizations and educational institutions. Mr. Park received the USO Patriot Award in 2000 as well as being decorated by many American, Korean, and community organizations. He is a true patriot and an outstanding American. Sunny served as a KATUSA (Korean Augmentation to the United States Army) Soldier with the US Army in South Korea. After moving to the US, he continued to serve America's Veterans by ensuring our Korean War Veterans were never forgotten. As a member of the Korean War Veterans Memorial Foundation Board, he was proud to dedicate the Wall of Remembrance as a permanent addition to the existing memorial on 27 July 2022 in Washington, DC. Sunny Park will accept the 2022 Marvin Myers Leadership Award at the annual Freedom Ball taking place on 12 November 2022 in the Oceans Ballroom at the Georgia Aquarium.

The post about the 2022 MMLA recipient is inspiring because it highlights people who work hard to serve their communities and make a positive difference. It reminded me that dedication and effort can lead to meaningful achievements. I remember having a busy school schedule while preparing for important exams, and it was difficult to keep up with everything.
