Veterans Day Events

Each year, the Georgia Veterans Day Association presents annual events to honor our Veterans and to educate the public on the service and sacrifice of our men and women in our Nation's uniform.

The GVDA is proud to partner with organizations that share our commitment to Veterans and align with our mission statement.

A message from the GVDA President -

Dear Veterans and GVDA Supporters -

2021 was an outstanding year for the Georgia Veterans Day Association and we could not have accomplished our mission without the support of our Veterans, partners, and sponsors.  We were excited to have presented all four events in a live format and we could not be more pleased with the community engagement.

The Mission of the Georgia Veterans Day Association is to honor our Veterans and Active-Duty Military in addition to educating our fellow citizens on the service and sacrifice of our men and women who wear and have worn our Nation’s uniform. We accomplish these goals by organizing and hosting our annual Veterans Day events.  We are pleased to announce that the 41st Annual Georgia Veterans Day Events (Georgia Veterans Day Parade in Atlanta, Observance Ceremony at The Battery Atlanta, and Veterans Festival at The Battery Atlanta) proudly presented by the Georgia Veterans Day Association, Inc., will be held on Saturday, November 12th.  In addition, we are excited to be back at the Oceans Ballroom of the Georgia Aquarium as we present our annual black-tie Freedom Ball that evening.

The theme for this year's events will be "Wheels Up" and honors our Military Aviation – All branches of service and every type of aircraft.  Our nation is blessed to have men and women who take to the skies in support of our safety and security.  From the first aircraft that took flight during WWI to the latest generation fighters protecting the skies over Europe, our pilots are the pointed spear and the caring hand when our nation calls.  In service today, our military branches employ fixed-wing aircraft, rotary-wing aircraft, and drones with every variation possible.  From dropping Paratroopers to dropping precision munitions and from delivering humanitarian supplies to providing vital intelligence – our pilots, crews, and support personnel are the most talented and dedicated in the world.  We are excited to honor those who fly them, who service them, and who design and build them.

Our Senior Leadership Team and Directors are diligently working to finalize our plans for 12 November 2022.  Please monitor our website and sign up for our mailing list at the top of the page to get all of our latest updates.

Thank you for your continued support of the GVDA and all of Georgia’s Veterans.
