A message from the GVDA President -

Dear Veterans and GVDA Supporters -

The Mission of the Georgia Veterans Day Association is to honor our Veterans and Active-Duty Military in addition to educating our fellow citizens on the service and sacrifice of our men and women who wear and have worn our Nation’s uniform. We accomplish these goals by organizing and hosting our annual Veterans Day events. We are pleased to announce that the 42nd Annual Georgia Veterans Day Events (Georgia Veterans Day Parade in Atlanta, Observance Ceremony, and Veterans Day Expo) proudly presented by the Georgia Veterans Day Association, Inc., will be held in Midtown Atlanta on Saturday, November 11th. In addition, we are excited to announce that we will be hosting our annual black-tie Freedom Ball that evening in the Cobb Galleria Centre.

The theme for this year's events will be "Korean War | Korea Defense | US-ROK Alliance” and honors the strong bond between the United States and the Republic of Korea. During the Korean War from 1950-1953 and in the decades since, our two nations have worked together to ensure safety on the Korean Peninsula and provided a security presence in the region. On 27 July 2023, our nations will celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Armistice to end the Korean War. This cease-fire still exists today and no formal peace agreement has been signed by either side.

Our Veterans Day events for 2023 will be our most aggressive to date. Our plan to honor our Korean War Veterans and the 3.3 million servicemembers who have served in the Republic of Korea over the last seven decades will be unlike any event undertaken in the past. We will have current and former military representatives from both the ROK and the US in addition to representatives from the 14 other nations that fought under the UN flag during the Korean War. This unprecedented event will educate the public on the US-ROK Alliance, honor the men and women who saved and preserved South Korea, and showcase how vital their service was to the success the Republic of Korea enjoys today.

Our Senior Leadership Team and Directors are diligently working to finalize our plans for 11 November 2023.  Please monitor our website and sign up for our mailing list at the top of the page to get all of our latest updates.

Thank you for your continued support of the GVDA and all of Georgia’s Veterans.

Respectfully,

Kevin L Miller

President
