A message from the GVDA President -
Dear Veterans and GVDA Supporters -
The Mission of the Georgia Veterans Day Association is to honor our Veterans and Active-Duty Military in addition to educating our fellow citizens on the service and sacrifice of our men and women who wear and have worn our Nation’s uniform. We accomplish these goals by organizing and hosting our annual Veterans Day events. We are pleased to announce that the 43rd Annual Georgia Veterans Day Events (Georgia Veterans Day Parade in Midtown Atlanta, Observance Ceremony, and Veterans Expo) proudly presented by the Georgia Veterans Day Association, Inc., will be held on Saturday, November 9th. In addition, we are excited to host our annual black-tie Freedom Ball that evening as our signature event returns to the Oceans Ballroom at the Georgia Aquarium.
Each year, the Georgia Veterans Day Association honors all Veterans, from every branch of service and from every period of service – both in peace and in war. However, we always select an official theme to pay special honors to a specific group of Veterans. Our 2024 Official Theme will be: “Honoring our Airborne and Special Operations Forces”.
From their origins in the Second World War to the overt and covert operations happening around the world today, our Airborne and Special Operations Forces are the first to be deployed when our nation calls. Every branch of our military has units that have special operations capabilities and contribute to our overall force projection. With the 80th Anniversary of D-Day taking place in June, we look forward to utilizing this year to educate the public on their service and sacrifice. The men and women who serve in these units, and the thousands that support their operations, are the best of our nation and we are excited to honor them in 2024.
Our Senior Leadership Team and Directors are diligently working to finalize our plans for 9 November. Please monitor our website and sign up for our mailing list at the top of the page to get all of our latest updates.
Thank you for your continued support of the GVDA and all of Georgia’s Veterans.
Respectfully,
Kevin L Miller
