A message from the GVDA President -

Dear Veterans and GVDA Supporters -

2020 was a difficult year for everyone.  However, those challenges pushed everyone to adapt to the conditions on the ground to accomplish their mission.  We were not immune to having to make those tough choices and had to pivot our Veterans Day Parade and Veterans Festival to a virtual platform and cancel our annual Freedom Ball completely.  We thank all of our supporters for their engagement and participation during that trying period.

2021 is a new year and we are very excited to announce that our events will return to a live format.  Our Veterans Day Parade and Veterans Festival will take place and we encourage everyone to join in honoring Georgia's Veterans.  We have also added a new permanent event to our roster - an Observance Ceremony.  Last year, in place of our normal events, we hosted a ceremony to honor our Veterans.  With the success of that event last year, it will now have a permanent spot on our event day.

The GVDA is also proud to partner with The Battery Atlanta to present these great events.  The Georgia Veterans Day Parade in Atlanta, the Veterans Festival, and the Observance Ceremony will all take place at The Battery Atlanta.  This exciting new venue offers our attendees easy access to great parking with amazing food and shopping options after our events.

Our Freedom Ball will be taking place at our host hotel - Omni Hotels & Resorts The Battery Atlanta.  Additional details including ticket purchase information will be available in the near future.  With all of our events taking place within The Battery Atlanta, we encourage everyone to make this your destination to honor our Veterans.

The theme for this year's events will be "The Last 100 Yards" and honors the Infantry from both the United States Army and the United States Marine Corps.  After the planes have dropped the bombs and the tanks have maneuvered nearer to the objective, it will always be the Infantry that takes that last one hundred yards and closes with the enemy.

Our Senior Leadership Team and Directors are diligently working to finalize our plans for 06 November 2021.  Please monitor our website and sign up for our mailing list at the top of the page to get all of our latest updates.

Thank you for your continued support of the GVDA and all of Georgia’s Veterans.
