A message from the GVDA President -
Dear Veterans and GVDA Supporters -
The Mission of the Georgia Veterans Day Association is to honor our Veterans and Active-Duty Military in addition to educating our fellow citizens on the service and sacrifice of our men and women who wear and have worn our Nation’s uniform. We accomplish these goals by organizing and hosting our annual Veterans Day events. We are pleased to announce that the 45th Annual Georgia Veterans Day Events (Georgia Veterans Day Parade in Midtown Atlanta and Observance Ceremony) proudly presented by the Georgia Veterans Day Association, Inc., will be held on Saturday, November 7th. In addition, we are excited to host our annual black-tie Freedom Ball that evening as our signature event returns to the Oceans Ballroom at the Georgia Aquarium.
Each year, the Georgia Veterans Day Association honors all Veterans, from every branch of service and from every period of service – both in peace and in war. However, we always select an official theme to pay special honors to a specific group of Veterans. Our 2026 Official Theme will be: “Honoring Global War on Terror Veterans and the 25th Anniversary of 9/11”.
Twenty-five years ago this September, our nation was attacked by terrorists who killed thousands of our fellow citizens in New York, Pennsylvania, and Washington, DC. In response, our nation called upon our military to act and the men and women who wear our nation’s uniform immediately deployed. For over two decades, all branches of our military fought terrorism in every corner of the globe to keep us safe here at home. This special group of veterans deserve our appreciation, and we look forward to honoring them at the 2026 Georgia Veterans Day events.
Our Senior Leadership Team and Directors are diligently working to finalize our plans for 7 November. Please monitor our website and sign up for our mailing list at the top of the page to get all of our latest updates.
Thank you for your continued support of the GVDA and all of Georgia’s Veterans.
Respectfully,
Kevin L Miller
President & Chairman
Georgia Veterans Day Association, Inc.
